Hey! I’m Jordan Woods-Robinson, and I run MOST: Masters of Self-Taping at self-taping.com. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects, why, who else touches it, and what you can ask me to do about it. If anything here is unclear, write me at Jordan@Woods-Robinson.com.
What I collect
- Account details: your name, your email address, and your password (stored scrambled, so I can’t read it).
- Purchase details: what you bought, the amount, the date, and your billing name and email. Your card number never touches this site. Stripe handles it.
- Your learning activity: which lessons you’ve finished, assessments you’ve logged (including your self-check notes), badges, favorites, and the days you’ve logged in.
- What you choose to share: comments, the optional community card (a display name, an optional picture, and an optional link to a social page), and any profile picture you upload.
- Requests you send me: Tape Review requests (the times you’re free and any note) and questions you type into Ask Jordan.
- Free lesson sign-ups: the email address you give to read the free lesson, and a record that you asked for it.
- Basic technical data: your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, kept in the server’s ordinary logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics and advertising data (only if you say yes): which pages you visit, what you click, and whether you buy, collected through Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. See “Cookies” below.
MOST does not upload, store, or watch your self-tapes. The course is self-paced and self-graded.
Why I use it
- To give you access to the course and keep your place in it.
- To take payment, send receipts, and process refunds.
- To email you about your account, purchases, Tape Review requests, and course announcements. Announcement emails have an unsubscribe link, and you can stop them at any time.
- To answer your questions in Ask Jordan and schedule Tape Review sessions.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- With your permission, to measure traffic and advertising results.
I do not sell your personal information or rent it. If you accept analytics and advertising cookies, I use that data to understand which pages help actors and to measure and improve my own ads.
Who else handles it
I use a few trusted services to run the site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Pressable hosts the site and its database.
- Stripe processes payments and refunds.
- Postmark delivers the emails the site sends (receipts, welcome notes, announcements, Tape Review messages).
- Anthropic powers Ask Jordan. When you ask a question, the text of your question and the relevant parts of my lessons are sent to Anthropic to write an answer. Please don’t put sensitive personal information in a question. Your questions are saved so I can see what members are asking and improve the course.
- YouTube and Loom play the lesson videos. They may set their own cookies when a video loads.
- Google (Analytics) and Meta (Facebook pixel) receive visit and purchase data, but only if you accept cookies. Their own privacy policies apply to what they do with it. If you accepted cookies and then buy, my server may also tell Meta about the purchase (the amount and a scrambled, one-way version of your email) so it can measure my ads.
- Google Meet hosts Tape Review sessions.
- Discord is a separate community that you can choose to join. It is not connected to this site, and its own privacy policy applies there.
I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its members from fraud or abuse.
Cookies
The site uses the cookies it needs to work: they keep you logged in, remember your cart and checkout, and protect against abuse.
Optional cookies: with your permission, Google Analytics and the Meta pixel set cookies that measure visits, ads, and purchases. Nothing from them loads until you press “Sure, that’s fine” on the cookie notice. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, I treat that as “no” and never ask. You can change your mind any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, or by clearing your cookies.
How long I keep it
I keep your account and learning record for as long as your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask me to delete your account at any time.
Your choices
- Ask what information I have about you, or ask for a copy.
- Ask me to correct it or delete it.
- Unsubscribe from announcement emails using the link at the bottom of any of them.
- Say no to analytics and advertising cookies (or change your answer later with “Cookie settings”).
- Remove your community card or comments from your profile.
Email me at Jordan@Woods-Robinson.com and I’ll take care of it. If you live in a place with privacy laws that give you additional rights (such as the EU, the UK, or California), those rights apply to you too, and you can use the same email address to exercise them.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections and scrambled passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else.
Children
Young actors are welcome, with a parent or guardian supervising. If you’re under 18, please have a parent or guardian create and oversee your account. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13 without a parent’s involvement, and if I learn I have, I’ll delete it.
Changes
If I change this page in a meaningful way, I’ll update the date at the top and, for big changes, email members.
